Bigger than I expected, once I got underway, but also painted it quicker than I thought I would. Not my mini, came to me damaged and poorly constructed. All I did was paint it as is.
My second attempt at black armour, I really wasn’t happy with this, so switched to a new technique, shown in the Bladeguard post. Cool mini though. Painted while on holiday, with very poor lighting.
Trialling a new black armour technique, haven’t been happy with my Iron Hands combat patrol so far, so grabbed a different mini to test a theory. Pretty happy with this one, just missing the shoulder and knee decals.
I haven’t painted in 30 years, literally. For whatever reason, I’ve gotten back into the hobby again. This is the 3rd mini since I picked up a brush again. I feel like I haven’t really lost anything. Do you agree?
I recently played a game with someone new to tabletop gaming. We used the OPR Firefight rules, with the modification that this was a fight to death or rout with no turn limit.
I’ve just started on my marine portion from my leviathan box. Been painting nids for a few years now but finally was brave enough to try my first human face. Would love any feedback you have.
I really enjoy these old painting guides for being both straightforward and attainable to the target audience of kids just starting to paint. The guide gives a simple block painting guide that could be a foundation, and the final result squad is honestly painted as described. I get a bit annoyed when I see guides where the finished miniature obviously had way more work done on it than described.
